Swamp Explorers
Zoology and Ecology Camp
Join us for three days of explorations in the swamp. We will be traveling around the area to see different swamp ecosystems and observe all the creepy creatures who live there! This camp is for middle and high school students.
Itinerary
Day 1: We will begin the morning by learning how to use seine nets and dip nets in the wetland behind Bayside Intermediate School. After lunch, we will explore the internal anatomy of a wetland creature by dissecting a bullfrog!
Day 2: We will travel to Armand Bayou Nature Center to use seine and dip nets to collect organisms that live in the bayou. We will then travel to the Seabrook Trail to observe alligators, snakes and other swamp residents in their natural habitat.
